Troupe’s New Hair Style Attempts

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGG!!!!  Long hair!  If I don’t find some kind of style for you soon my dad will give me a hair-cut!  So, just cooperate!! Ok? I have to make a style with you so that my dad won’t cut my hair.  The style has to be out of my eyes!  I’ve tried and tried and tried and tried I guess we are going to just have to get you cut.  Just kidding!!  Hair I sure hope that nobody laughs at you and I but even if they do they would get a load of us so don’t be discoraged.

First attempt, The Elvis Presley look:  I worked on this one for a while thinking it would look really cool.  It looked cool in my mind before I actually tried it.  Then it turned into a tangled look.  I was trying to get like a wave in my hair, but it turns out you have to have a special cut for that to happen.

Second attempt, The Mow-hawk:  This was going to be an awesome hair style except for the fact that my hair is SOOO thick and HEAVY  that it kept falling over.  Arrgg.  I put gel in and it stayed!…………………………………  FLOP!!!  Darn it.  I tried again.  Flop!  And again, FLOP!  And again, ahhhh its in my eyes, its in my eyes!

Last attempt, Regular Hair Style:  Ahhhhhhhhh! Back to good old me where my hair is brushed down covering my eyebrows and ears.  My hair looks great today.

“Hey dad what do you think?” said Troupe.

Dad replies, “OK son, time to go to the bank.”

“OK?” I replied.  “Hey dad we just passed the bank!”

“I know son, that’s because we are not going to the bank, we are going to get your hair-cut.” said Dad.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!” I SCREAMED.

Sorry hair.  I could not find a hair style that kept you from getting cut.  Now we have to go to Tennis practice and I’m sure that everyone is going to laugh at you and I.  We got to tennis lessons and now they are all saying, “nice hair cut Troupe!”  Did you hear that Hair, they said your hair cut looks GREAT!!  I looked in the mirror to see why they liked it and then…  Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!  Where did my best friend go?  Hair, Where are you???!!!

Editor's Note: Don't worry, Troupe found a style for now that allows him to keep the long hair.

 I am a Cell
Troupe McLeod
2/21/07

Hi I am a living cell.  I have many exquisite parts in me that help me to survive.  In this report I will be describing how I relate to two things: a human body and a car.  I will tell you how I relate to a human body, and a solar panel / gasoline car.  I picked these two things to compare myself to because they are so complex I knew that some things on them just had to act in the same way as some of my parts.

Here are some of the comparisons of me, a living cell, to a human body.  My nucleus is basically like the human brain.  It does my thinking and it tells me what to do just like a human brain does.  My membranes protect me from poisons and germs just like the human skin protects the insides from getting all germy and dirty.  On my membranes are proteins.  The proteins on my membranes are like little bumps.  They are kind of like the white blood cells in the human body because they take care of bad things and destroys them.  They do this the same way my membrane proteins do.  My cytoplasm carries my energy and other things that I need to move and stay alive.  My cytoplasm does this the same way a human’s veins and arteries carry the blood to all the human cells and I just so happen to maybe be one of those blood cells.  The mitochondria in me helps me breathe the same way lungs help the humans to breath.  My ribosomes are like the marrow in a human’s bones.  My ribosomes make membrane proteins exactly the same way a bones marrow makes blood for the human body to run.  Those are some of the comparisons of some of my parts to a human body.

Vrrooommm, vrrooommm!! Now I’m going to start describing and comparing myself, if I were a plant cell, to a car.  My cell wall protects me from the outside.  It is just like a car’s frame and body.  They are similar because they both protect the insides and they help form the shape.  My cell chromosomes support me and they make me what I am.  I can relate my chromosomes to a car’s chassis because a car’s chassis is the main part of a car and it is an important part of a car to make a car move.  My chloroplasts take in energy from the sun and they turn it into sugar for me.  It is the same as on a solar panel car.  The solar panels take in the sun’s rays and turn them into energy for the car to run on.  The Vacuoles in me store my energy and food and other things just like a gas tank in a car holds all of the gas a car needs to run.  Those are just some of the comparisons of my parts to a car if I were a plant cell.

In your body you have tons and tons of cells.  Make good use of all of them.  If ever you are bored you can play games and be creative just like I did.  It sure does take time and it is fun.  It is not only fun but its true and it will help you with science class!!

Hi, this is Troupe McLeod.  I am now 18 and I will be explaining what it’s like having seven brothers and sisters including myself. But first, I’m going to tell the names of all my siblings and their ages.  Troupe McLeod, eighteen (that’s me); Thomas McLeod, fourteen; Brent McLeod, eleven; Caroline McLeod, eight; Rebecca McLeod, eight; Lane McLeod, six; and Tyna McLeod, two.  Now let me explain what it’s like to have six brothers and sisters.

Life with six brothers and sisters is never boring.  First of all it seems as if you are always going to the store.  Now that I am eighteen and I can drive my mom tells me to do most of that!  It is fun every time I go.  After finishing all the shopping I get to get one thing under twenty dollars!  That’s the good part!  I also enjoy helping with taking my brothers to their basketball practice.  The girls have their own game; volley ball!!  The easiest one to take care of is Tyna because she does not have anything to do yet except sit in day care.  Another reason that life is never boring with six brothers and sisters is that when we eat a meal we always have big meals and lots of delightful conversations.  That is why life is never boring whenever you have six brothers and sisters.

There are also some advantages of having six brothers and sisters.  One of them is that there are definatly more people to play with.  It is also really cool when we all get to play with my new XBOX 360 with eight controllers and many games that I can teach my siblings how to play.  Much fun!!!  There are also a lot more places to go because you have more birthday parties and ball games to go to.  We also get to go to arcade places with pizza and lots of games.  For example one of the places is Chucky Cheeses.  We get to go to these kinds of places a lot more often than if I was single child.  Another thing is that you definitely learn how to get along with younger kidsSo this proves that there are a few good things about having six brothers and sisters.

Although there are a whole lot more disadvantages in having six brothers and sisters than advantages, I am only going to name a one.  I would definitely get in trouble a lot more often.  If I don’t make all the kids happy at the same time things will go all wrong and then I will get in trouble.  That is one of the disadvantages of having six younger brothers and sisters.  Phew!!  I can’t wait until collage!!

Some people in this world like to have lots of little brothers and sisters but I am not one of them.  I hope this report was a report that will be of great help if you have younger brothers and sisters or you are about to.
