We asked veteran missionaries to Mexico, Jim and Caroline James, why they recently joined with Calvary. Jim said "the
most important things that we have received...are the fundamental
teachings that they provided us. Fund raising, donor relations, tax
laws, and business issues. We did not have a good way to deal with our
funds." He said it was hard to track and even receive the money that
had already been given. Continuing, Jim said "Calvary takes care
of all that now. They also have relieved us of other burdensome
responsibilities such as keeping up with the changes in tax laws; they
keep on top of those things". Jim concluded by saying "I
also believe that they are prayer partners with us and are united in a
common cause. I appreciate all that they do. It gives me a good feeling
to know that we are involved with leadership that has a global vision!"

The Reason
Whether we focus on the cross
or the resurrection, we have reason to celebrate because of what God
accomplished for each of us through Jesus Christ. It is just too much
Good News to keep to ourselves. Please partner with us so that we can
train pastors and teachers in Southeastern Asia who, in turn
will go and tell those that have not heard about what God has done
for us all. We have been reconciled to Him ....and so is everyone who
hears and believes. |

Dear Friend,
Happy Thanksgiving!
It is truly amazing how much there is to be thankful for. We
are thankful to God that you are sharing with us in our endeavor to
serve Him by bringing the Light and Love of Jesus Christ to
Thailand. It is our great pleasure to do this. We were made for
this. We are in the spirit of thanksgiving even now, as we are
continuing to assemble the partners who will join with us in this task.
In this issue, as in the last, there are many
embedded links that lead to more information or larger pictures. For
example, if you want to see our garage sale, just click the word. All pictures are linked as well. Try and find one that isn't. |

Thailand Trip
Tom
took a two week trip to Thailand returning the first week of November.
He went to meet with the Calvary team already there in Khon Kaen
and experience the Thai culture. The real purpose of this trip was
realized after Tom came home and started sharing the experiences with
others. "As we tell our stories the truths are revealed to us" Tom said.
"I met with the team and they are living their lives as a testimony to
the love and power of God. I was blessed to see firsthand how
these families, united in support to one another, serve and
sacrifice for their Lord. My heart was touched as I was able to share
worship with the Thai people in their humble church meeting places. I
also met with faithful missionaries
from Singapore who have spent over 20 years in the effort of
uniting the Church to work together and show the Thai people who Christ
is and what He can do." They said "cooperation is the key!"
Tom concluded that ultimately the purpose of his trip
was to synchronize his heart with these people already serving
God in Thailand. Our hearts are now harmoniously set on Thailand. |
Time for Harvest
Jesus said to His disciples, "The
harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye
therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his
harvest. Go your ways; behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves."

Preparing To Go
Since we believe we will be headed to Guatemala for the ten weeks of training Calvary International offers us next spring, we are preparing to shed our belongings. The house and all the
possessions inside will be going on the proverbial auction block over
the next few months. We have sought the advice of knowledgeable friends
and it has been decided that the house should be sold "as is". We
intend to make it available for sale after the holidays. Our antiques
and other heavy items we will seek to sell locally. All the lighter stuff
we will try our best on eBay. We are not overly attached to our
possessions so this process is more or less logistical. We have sought
an estate sale professional for possible assistance as well. |
Tongue Thai'd
One major "take away" from Tom's trip to Thailand is that we positively must learn the Thai language. With
interpreters it has been taking the team more than twice as much
time to achieve the same level of miscomprehension. We recognize
the Thai people are worth the investment. And while we all agree that
we are up to the effort, we are not blind to the fact that it is
one of the most difficult languages to learn... next to English. Click the video window to hear Thai.

It is our desire that we bless you by creating an opportunity for you to reach the nations for Jesus though us.
Grace and Peace,
