Still For Sale

We will be selling this Toyota Truck this month to the highest bidder.
Dear Friend,

It is time for another update. We are working hard on the new Crisis Management System for Calvary International. The first round of Risk Assessments is being evaluated. The end result will be increased safety for all of our missionaries. We once thought policy development and contingency planning were part of corporate monotony. We now realize that they have a spiritual application as well. Here are some of our news highlights. Click links and pictures for increased viewing pleasure.

It's Confirmed Keep Right
Feedback is so important. We are often unsure of ourselves and seek confirmation. God's feedback is equally necessary. We were definitely in need of confirmation when we accepted the position of Director of Member Care for Calvary International. After all, this was a larger role than we anticipated or even asked for. But we distinctly heard God clear His throat and declare us "in the right place, at the right time."

We first met Roger and Mary Ann in a setting totally unrelated to missions. Roger spoke and it occurred to me that he had been a missionary somewhere and was hurting for it. While listening we discovered that it had been fifteen years and that both he and his wife were still grieving. And as we delved deeper we realized they worked with the very same missions agency where we now hung our shingle. Fifteen years earlier some poor choices were made and these missionaries to Guadalajara were left with broken hearts and broken dreams of a lifetime spent on the mission field. In March of this year Mary Ann poured out her heart about that hurt, some of it for the very first time. In April the healing couple was at a Calvary International event rubbing elbows with old friends they hadn't seen in over a decade. And by July they returned to the mission field on a short term trip to Haiti...to give some other career missionaries some of their expert assistance with accounting software. God is so good. He heals and confirms with the same breath.
Completed Fast
Fasting We are grateful to those that prayed as Tom completed his 21 days of fasting. We were amazed at the relative ease with which it was achieved. And Tom's energy level was amazing till the very end. Being part of meal preparation and joining the family at the table ensured that connectedness wasn't what was fasted.  We all learned from it as a family as Roxie felt invited into the experience and Troupe thought ..."this must be easy". The purpose of the fast was to seek God and to hear from Him. We feel that the purpose was realized. And we are grateful to those who participated with us. It appears that Tom is now on a program to gain back the 20 pounds he lost during the fast.
Troupe's Trip
Troupe Fur Elise Troupe finished 7th grade with his eyes already looking toward the return to LaVilla for the 8th grade. The end of the school year was punctuated with a flurry of effort towards raising grades and showing his skills on the clarinet. He is in hopes of earning a spot in next year's Symphonic Band. His energy was rewarded with a noticeable improvement in report card scores as well as his musical output. His piano classes should prove to be more challenging next year as well. Troupe is in Texas for the summer being shared among the many who sow love into his life. He returns to us in early August. Click the picture for one of Troupe's favorite offerings from Beethoven.
They're Asking For Money
Money Tree We have yet to reach our goals for raising partners and monthly support. We have become aware that some have wanted to provide support but deemed that their monthly contribution would be too small. Let us assure you. There is no gift too small. We need partners who can join with us at all levels. Please just pray about it and trust God ...even if it is a "not yet" answer.

It is our desire that we bless you by creating an opportunity for you to reach the nations for Jesus though us.

Grace and Peace,
                      Tom & Roxie McLeod
