Speaking of books,
 do you know what the largest library in the world is?

   
   

In 1800 the Library of Congress was founded to serve the U.S. Congress.

 

Housed in three buildings, its main one is the Thomas Jefferson Building.

 
 

 

 

 

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial

 

   Thomas Jefferson was the third president between1801-1809.

       

 
   

 

 
 

                                                   

       
 

Monticello was Jefferson's home...

...from 1770 till his death in 1826.

Lincoln Memorial


 

Abraham Lincoln was president from 1861-1865.
   

 

In 1864 U.S. Federal Government set up the Arlington National Cemetery  

 

Today it includes 624 acres of Virginia land overlooking the Potomac River.

1904
 Theodore Roosevelt laid the corner stone for the Washington National Cathedral

President George H.W. Bush was present as the "Final Finial" was placed on the Cathedral 83 years later.
